Description
This Beatrix Potter 2017-coin release features another of her lovable characters Tom Kitten. Tom Kitten was first introduced to the public in ‘The Tale of Tom Kitten’ in 1907, and not long after in ‘The Tale of Samuel Whiskers’. Set in Hill Top Farm this story sees Tom Kitten with his family and friends including his sisters Moppet and Mittens, his mother Tabitha Twitchit and Jemima Puddle-Duck introduced. It was here in Hill Top Farm the kittens had struggles to stay clean and tidy in preparation for their mothers’ guest’s arrival. Tom Kitten, resisting his mother attempts for him to get dressed for company in “all sorts of elegant uncomfortable clothes” eventually bursts several buttons, leaving his mother to sew them back on again.
This 925 sterling silver coin features Tom Kitten himself looking a little startled, with his fur and oversized clothes highlighted with colour printing and enhanced by the coin’s Proof finish.
Beautifully presented in a clear acrylic presentation case with a booklet and certificate of authenticity.
