Sterling Mint has commissioned a range of medals struck to pay tribute to the people and professions who have kept the country going and kept us alive. Any such list will create controversy and whilst we do not intend this to be totally comprehensive, it certainly recognises some of the most important people in the country over the last few months. Introducing the Heroes of 2020:
Each of the 12 designs is available in a pure silver layered medal retailing for £19.95, a 1oz medal and retailing for £49, or a 2oz version, retailing for £99 and limited to just 2,020 each. For each medal sold, Sterling Mint will donate 100% of its profits from sale to NHS Charities Together, a registered charity in England & Wales (No. 1186569). The total donation is expected to be £2,000,000.
1 Kilo Medal
In addition, there is a full kilo medal available, limited to just 100 editions in tribute to the age of the phenomenal Captain Sir Thomas Moore and his accomplishments. The kilo medal features all of the 10 designs and will retail for £1,999. Each of these will be numbered. The first 5 kilo medals to be struck, numbers 1-5, will be presented, without charge, to the following individuals in recognition of their leadership and/or inspiration throughout the crisis:
