Description

Commemorating one of the most decisive battles in history is the 200th Anniversary of the Battle of Waterloo UK £5 coin. Minted in 2015, this Silver Proof coins features a design inspired by the monumental wall painting by Irish painter Daniel Maclise, “The Meeting of Wellington and Blücher after the Battle of Waterloo” completed in 1861.

The coin is one of the first to portray the new portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Jody Clark on the obverse. The design is the work of David Lawrence.
